Capable Software has provided Data Conversion Services in the past to enable customers to transfer data from old applications to Capable 21C.  Our experience with Data Conversions has shown us several important things:

1. It is rare that data transfers cleanly and completely.
   Every computer system is different.  Each having their own strengths and weaknesses.  Moreover, they store the information in different ways.  This means that transferring data from one system to another is a little like fitting square pegs into round holes.
2. Garbage in - garbage out.
   Every system will have some small amount of damaged data.  Some more than others.  There is no way for a data conversion to repair damaged data.
3. Pragmatic solutions are often the best.
   Sometimes, the cheapest solution to convert data is to hire a typist to transcribe the data.  The greatest challenge with an automated data conversion is that of verification.  Someone should look at every file that has been converted to ensure that it has been converted correctly.  If you're going to pay someone to do that, you may as well pay them to re-type the data - and save yourself the price of the data conversion.
4. It is much harder to fix things after you go live.
   Before you start using your new Capable 21C system, there is plenty of opportunity to convert and re-convert the data.  Indeed, the data can be re-converted as many times as required to get it right.  However, once you start using Capable 21C, this is no longer an option.  Any missing (or incorrect) information needs to be delicately transfused into your system - which takes significantly longer.

All data conversions are quoted on a case-by-case basis, and any additional work that needs to be done after you've started using your Capable 21C system will be charged on a time and materials basis.  Data conversions are non-refundable, and are delivered on an "as-is" basis.  Whilst Capable Software will use its best endeavours to convert data accurately and completely, we offer no guarantees regarding the completeness or accuracy of the converted data.
